A house for a family who love giving parties. The ground floor of this Victorian terraced house has been opened out to give a large living area at the back of the house overlooking the garden while the kitchen is re-sited to pole position in the middle of the house. Warm oiled oak, red terracotta, lots of colour and pattern and hand-made tiles bring the house to life.

This large double reception room had long been separated into two rooms; a TV room for the children and a more grown-up sitting room. The kids have now young adults so the time had come to open it all up, making the most of abundant natural light and space. The front end is elegant and comfortable with a lovely timeless mix of mid century, classic and contemporary design. The back space is a properly snugly TV room with loads of space for lounging and watching films.

My second time at this beautiful house; I initially designed the interiors when it underwent a huge gutting and refurbishment and then returned several years later to update it for new owners. Second time around we installed new storage including a simple walnut dressing table and large built-in wardrobes in the master bedroom and a custom-made credenza in the dining room. We orchestrated the careful blending of some of the new owners’ existing furniture with classic and timeless new pieces and introduced lots of great prints and textures.

Work in progress
In collaboration with cabinet maker and designer Nathalie de Leval I am working on a new hand-built kitchen and large bathroom for this family house in Crouch End. Marble, walnut, aged brass and some very beautiful detailing.
A major overhaul of this beautiful Tuscan farmhouse that was finished in the summer of 2024. The new layout of the ground floor creates a beautiful, light filled kitchen dining room, a new larger bathroom and an ensuite bathroom for the main bedroom. Details are simple and appropriate for the age and situation of the house. Where the house was once perfect for hot summers and outside living it is now a wonderful place to be all year round.
A full refurbishment of a three bedroom rental house in Little Venice in London. The project included a new kitchen, new bathrooms as well as better and more effective lighting and new floor finishes throughout.
Furnishings and decoration for a new home on Seasalter Beach in Whitstable designed by architects Stiff + Trevillion.
The furnishing of a mid terrace house on the edge of Hampstead Heath designed Stanley Amis and William and Gillian Howell between 1954 and 1956.
